ALASKA, Three tiny, unmanned, aerosondes completed Alaska's coastal sea ice mapping, providing important datas about the atmospheric and environmental changes. The small aircrafts, three-foot-long and heavy 30 pounds, are equipped with sophisticated instruments in order to monitor temperatures, humidity and wind speeds and they have also digital cameras to assess changes in sea ice and coastal erosion....
