Successful first test-launch for Russian space rocket Angara A-5
Moscow, Russia - The carrier has been developed to replace the Soviet rocket Proton and reduce Russian dependence on Bajkonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan
New Russian heavy-class Angara A-5 rocket successfully performed its first test-launch from Pesetsk cosmodrome, 800 km from Moscow at 8:57 local time. Twelve minutes after lift-off, third stadium Breeze-M separated from the rocket to carry a 2-tons test-module to the planned geostationary orbit.
