Aircraft and jobs: Iberia cut pilot salaries by 20%

Madrid, Spain - Working hours increased per year; more strikes announced

"The company has budget issues and we must cut the expenditure level" the Spanish airline told the press, underlining that current average pilot annual gross salary is around 200,000 Euro, a cost too high to be sustained by the carrier. The airline will cut salaries by 20%, an operation which will allow Iberia to save more than 62 million Euro a year. The Italian daily "Finanza e Mercati" explains...
