The United States, Portugal, Belgium, Holland and Denmark started an important upgrade programme for the respective F-16 Fighting Falcon fleets, an upgrade where the role played by Lockheed Martin will be a major one to enable such aircraft to operate in a network enabled environment together with the F/A-22s and the F-35s.
