India launches a tender for the purchase of new military helicopters

New Delhi, India - From American, European or Russian suppliers

India Air Force (IAF) announced the launch of a tender for the purchase of 37 new military helicopters (22 attack and 15 heavy-lift ones) from American, European or Russian manufacturers. The will replace IAF's aging fleet of Soviet-built aircraft (the Mi-26 bought in the 80s). The news was reported today by Indian newspaper "The Times of India".
