Indian Navy purchases new Boeing P-81
Delhi, India - The contract is reported to be worth 1.8 billion dollars
Indian Navy subscribed a contract for the purchasing of Boeing P-81 planes, to replace 8 Tupolev -142 MS currently used in India for maritime reconnaissance. The contract has been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Security. The first of these aircraft will be delivered within four years, with the rest being handed over by 2015.
