Russia: 13 airlines banned from flying to European Union

The Russian aviation authorities have banned airliners from 13 companies from flying to Europe, due to defects that could affect passenger safety. The restrictions follow safety checks by Russian and EU authorities from June to October this year. These airlines have time until February 2008 to keep up to the international standards. Most of the aircraft banned are Soviet-built Tupolev and Ilyushin....
