The British tanker that was kidnapped left Iran today
It will reach Dubai in the middle of the day - VIDEO
Today, on September 27, the British ship seized by Tehran forces in July and released in August (see AVIONEWS) officially left the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas at 9:00 am (local time).
Erik Hanell, managing director of Stena Bulk, the company that owns the tanker, announced: "It is in motion. We will make further communications when it reaches the international waters".
The ship is heading towards Port Rashid in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and is expected to reach its destination within half a day.
The "Stena Empire" was seized by Iran's revolutionary guards in the Strait of Hormuz for alleged maritime violations about two weeks after the arrest of a tanker ship from Tehran in Gibraltar because it was suspected of transporting oil to Syria.
